Ontario, Canada | Explore the world of music with news from top unsigned, emerging and underground artists

On Saturday, the 22nd of April, 2017 the world of music and entertainment will come together once again to celebrate the invaluable efforts and contributions of independent record stores and indie music retailers around the world. For 10 years, the event has commended small business owners and independent record store chains dedicated to shining the spotlight on emerging new acts for their work in helping us discover new music, artists and bands we may never have heard otherwise.

As the world rapidly changes and moves from in-store music discovery to online music discovery via music platforms like Spotify and Deezer, it's important that we keep the veterans who started it all and who continue to do so in mind and at the forefront.

To celebrate record store day Crissi Cochrane, one of the most successful Independent Musicians in Canada and in the world as a whole, who recently went viral on Spotify with her song, "Pretty Words" which was streamed by a whopping 11 million listeners, will be playing a special in-store gig at Dr Disc Records, an independent music record store located in the heart of Windsor, Ontario where she's based.

After the release of her latest single, Beautiful Gangstas, Canadian singer songwriter and independent rockstar, Tara Kye went straight back into the studio to work on some new tracks. An avid songwriter and a prolific musician overall, Tara is constantly putting fresh new content for her fans and it's received well everytime. Over the past few months alone she's released more than 4 new singles and at least 3 videos and they just keep coming. There's no such thing as a dull day for Tara Kye fans.

Beautiful Gangstas was a big hit with fans. Tara and her longterm music collaborator John Dean, who taught her to play the piano went all out. They took their distinctive classic rock sound - that passioanate operatic feel, the deeply moving lyrics, the ominous piano melodies and guitar rhythms, and Tara's unmistakable, soothing angelic voice to a whole new level. Deeper and darker than ever, and with a strong message that would send chills up a hunter's spine.

Her latest EP, "Building Up The Strong" was released in October, 2016 and is also doing very well on iTunes, Spotify and other music services, and she continues to perform live regularly in and around the UK.

Juliette recently announced that she'll be performing at the One Love Reggae And Ska Festival, an annual UK music festival in Kent which is scheduled to take place from the 1st to the 3rd of September this year.

COOLIDGE'S "PASSPORT" RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED

Jackson, Mississippi, US rapper, Coolidge is scheduled to go on tour in at the end of May this year. Shortly after announcing the completion of his latest project and a video in the works which is being shot in Bermuda where the tour will be held, fans eagerly anticipated the release date and will be happy to hear that "Passport", the new song and the Bermudian rapper's second official international release will be available on iTunes, Spotify and other digital music outlets from the 15th of May. 

After progressively single-handedly building a name on Mississippi's underground hip hop scene and successfully carving out a hip hop career worthy of envy, the release of "Passport" marks a new milestone for the rapper who is now gaining attention internationally as one of hip hop's top rising acts.
