Many thought it was sexy at first, edgy, cool, and even hotter when ladies did it. Fashionistas pulled their pants a little below the belt to make sure everyone knew why their 50 dollar under garments were nothing like our 2 dollar Fruit Of The Looms. It was the craze of the '90s, everybody was doing it. But as time went by people went a little further and a little crazier with it, until pants were literally sagging half way down to the floor by the advent of the millenium.
Designer underwear no longer a requirement, all the rules went out the window.
We complained about it for years to no avail, there were butt cracks and filthy, worn out under garments hanging out everywhere. Luckily, as the urban fashion industry evolved and pants became less baggy, there seemed to be less and less of it. What a relief we all thought.

It's not uncommon nowadays to see hip hop videos featuring fantasy-like footage and stuff that is sometimes just plain delusional and even potentially detrimental to the mental states of the next generation when over-done in the way that it has been over the past decade - soft porn footage, debut artists flaunting cars and mansions even the most established artists will only rent, celebration of the "trap lifestyle" in a light that is far from the true realities of the game, and all sorts of entertaining, "Hollywood" stuff that has now been done repeatedly one too many times to be healthy for the developing mind. A new generation of independent hip hop artists has been secretely honing their crafts behind the scenes and is now strategically emerging with the hope of restoring the good name of the genre, and Born Ready is one of the chosen few.
This video is everything disillusioned, near desperate, starving real hip hop fans could have ever wished for, and then a lot more.
